She hides, you see? Not because she wants to, but because that's what she's learned to do when she doesn't feel safe. The world can be a daunting place, and the little girl within her has been hurt before.


Few people realize the trust and faith she must feel to show herself at all. Her hopes and dreams are shy and fragile, and she's been ignored and abandoned too many times. So she hides, protecting herself from the pain of rejection and heartache.


But when emotions start swirling and fear allows darkness to consume her, the little girl hides away. That's when the strong, stoic woman takes over, protecting her with reality and logic. Fiercely, she guards that little heart, for it is the light of her very soul.


She knows that little girl is the essence of her being, the spark that makes her alive. And she'll do everything in her power to keep her safe, to nurture her, and to help her heal.


For the little girl within is not just a memory of the past; she's a living, breathing part of her present. And she deserves love, care, and protection.

This post is about the long-lasting effects of emotional, mental, and physical abuse on a person's life. The "little girl within" represents the inner child who has been hurt and is still hiding from the pain.


The strong, stoic woman who protects her is the coping mechanism that many survivors develop to deal with the trauma. However, this coping mechanism can also prevent the inner child from healing and moving forward.


The post is a reminder that healing is possible, and that the inner child deserves love, care, and protection. It's a message of hope and resilience for those who have been hurt, and a reminder that they are not alone. I know of this because it is me. 🥺 I to this day protect my inner child but I also know she deserves freedom & healing so she can protect ME.
