My Restoration Story

How God Gave Me Back My Joy, My Marriage, and My Makeup Business

For the past few years, God has been restoring my life piece by piece. Not all at once — more like little surprises, one blessing at a time. And one of the biggest surprises was getting my makeup business back. I’m officially a Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay again, and honestly… I feel like myself for the first time in a long time.

But to understand why this means so much, I have to tell my story.

πŸ’„ Where It All Started

Back in 2017, I started a business with Younique. Their mission was to uplift, empower, and validate women everywhere — especially women who had been abused. I loved that. I loved their makeup. I loved the confidence it gave women. And I loved learning everything I could.

I was self‑taught.

Every day I got better.

Every day I learned new tips and tricks.

I even started my own Facebook group called “Ashley Sirens’ Makeup” — and it’s still up and running. I had a YouTube channel. I was excited. I was thriving. I was doing what I loved.

Then my daughter’s teacher invited me to a Mary Kay makeup party, and I jumped right in. I was on a roll… until April 29th, 2018. I’ll never forget that date.

Because that’s when everything changed.

🐍 The Woman Who Tried to Destroy My Life

A woman named Jennifer — no last name needed — came into my life out of nowhere. I had no friendship with her. No connection. Nothing. But she came in like a snake. And yes, I’m being honest. She came with lies, manipulation, and intentions that were not from God.
I’m not perfect either. Back in 2015, I wasn’t as faithful to my husband as I should’ve been. I was seeking attention from men who weren’t my husband and sending them pictures & sexting them as well again I wasn't perfect the power of temptation is real. But God used my brother to invite us to church, and we got right with God. I became a Sunday school teacher from 2015 to 2020. I taught Awana’s. My husband did sound for both services. We were serving. We were growing. We were blessed.
Then Jennifer started getting closer… not just to me, but to my husband.
She was interested in a married man — my husband.
I had my eyes on her. God gave me discernment long before I even understood how to use it. I noticed her tagging my husband on Facebook. Talking about him to me. Acting weird. Messaging him privately. It was creepy. And I wasn’t stupid — I was protecting my home.
Then out of nowhere she wanted me to “do her makeup.”
Yeah… no. Something was off.
She came over to my husband’s grandparents’ house. Papa wasn’t happy. I wasn’t happy. I watched her body language. I watched how she acted around my husband. And I called it.
I didn’t say anything at first. But then she texted me saying she was going to talk to my husband and that I needed to stop “telling him why she was messaging him.” That’s when I went off.
She ended up telling me everything. She showed me screenshots. I blocked her. And everything I suspected was true.
But here’s the part where God stepped in:
Jesus stopped my husband from going any deeper.
This woman was planning a whole life with him — a life he didn’t want. She even saved a picture of her and MY husband on her desk at work. She talked about taking my kids when she didn’t even have full custody of her own.
But my husband said, “Ew, no. I love my wife.”
Thank You, Jesus.
πŸ’” What I Lost — And What God Restored
Why does this connect to my makeup business?
Because I was happy.
I loved makeup.
I loved God.
I loved myself.
And she stole that from me for a long time.
I never stopped loving my husband, but I wasn’t happy. I was lost. I drifted far from God. I didn’t feel like myself. I didn’t trust women. I didn’t trust my gifts. I didn’t trust my own heart.
But God…
✝️ The Comeback Only God Could Write
Today, my marriage is stronger — because God is in the center of it.
I own two faith-based businesses now:
✨ Ashley Marie Designs
My ministry baby.
My healing space.
My testimony in creative form.
I make tote bags, t‑shirts, and car decals with Scripture. I get to share my story and share Jesus through my art. God is the CEO — literally.
πŸ’„ Ashley Siren’s Makeup
My makeup business is BACK.
I joined Mary Kay on the 13th of this month.
And I’m excited to see where Jesus takes me.

πŸ‘ The Sister Who Helped Me Heal
If it wasn’t for my forever sister in Christ, Jamie — her sweet spirit, her contagious smile, her kindness — I would still be in a bubble. She helped me feel safe again. She helped me trust women again.
She invited me to Moms of Lakeland.
I joined choir at my church.
I started opening up again.
I started healing.
I even started Career Coaching at my church. My teacher is amazing. And now I feel called to work with elderly people — to be a caregiver, start as an HHA, and work my way up to CNA. I cared for my husband’s grandparents for years, and I loved it. I have a heart for people who feel alone.

🌸 A New Chapter Begins
So here I am — restored, renewed, and ready.
I’m excited to share my new Mary Kay business, Ashley Siren’s Makeup, and I’m excited to see what God has in store for me next.
This is my testimony.
This is my healing.
This is my comeback.
And I’m just getting started.

This is a testimony of restoration, identity, calling, and redemption, and the way I wanted to write this is raw, honest, and powerful. What I’ve lived through is not small — it’s a full arc of being torn down, rebuilt, and set back on my feet by God Himself. Turning this into a blog was perfect, because my story reads like a journey, and women need to see themselves in it.

I love yall & God bless πŸ’ͺ🏻✝️πŸ₯Ή

love you always
