God Was With Me In Every Room
✨ Ashley Marie's Testimony ✨
On May 29th at 3 AM, I checked myself into SFBH in Plant City because I had been suffering with severe abdominal pain for a month. The pain was under my breastbone & above my belly button — the same pain I’ve had before with ulcers. I knew something was wrong, & I knew I needed help.
They admitted me immediately after a CT scan showed a mass blocking my pancreas &gallbladder, & they needed an MRI to investigate further. By 10 AM, I was already in the MRI room. After that, the doctors told me something was blocking my bile & pancreatic ducts. They didn’t know if it was gallstones. They started talking about removing my gallbladder & even reversing my Roux‑en‑Y gastric bypass.
That terrified me.
I didn’t get weight loss surgery because I was overweight — I got it because I had severe GERD, so bad they warned me it could turn into cancer. The bypass saved me. The thought of reversing it broke me. I cried & prayed, “God, please no.” I didn't want to wake up in the middle of the night throwing up & losing sleep. I was bad very bad.
Then came the delays for my ECRP.
My insurance took forever to process.
The first hospital wouldn’t touch me because of my anatomy. (I knew they weren't going to anyways) but they also lied to me to by saying they didn't have the equipment nor the specialist. I should have went to TGH but it was in the middle of the night like 3am so SFBH was the closest.
They said the best option was to transfer me to TGH — the hospital that originally did my surgery.
But then my doctor refused to talk to their doctor, & I lost my bed.
I was angry, scared, & exhausted.
Then — God moved.
My doctor called back.
My bed was restored.
& I was transferred to TGH on June 5th.
But the battle wasn’t over.
TGH had to redo my MRI because SFBH sent the wrong patient information.
They refused to send my labs & images as well.
Everything felt delayed, blocked, & frustrating.
Then my GI doctor came in she gave me the worst news yet —
that the only way to reach my gallbladder was to reverse my bypass, put in a stent, & remove it.
I broke down in tears.
I begged God, “Please, not that. Please protect me. I do not want this."
That night, I had a terrifying dream — a shadowy figure was at the foot of my bed pulling me from my bed by the same arm that had my IV. I was in my house but in my hospital gown it was something Freddy Krueger would do but without his knifes. I woke up screaming “Help me!” & I immediately prayed. After that prayer, I didn’t have another dream for the rest of my stay at TGH. I knew in my gut that was the spirit of fear & the spirit of anxiety. I was scared, worried & death (cause I'm in the hospital).
The next day, a different doctor came in — calm, confident, & reassuring.
He said, “You’re going to be fine. No major surgery. Let’s do a HIDA scan & an endoscopy.”
And guess what?
My gallbladder was fine.
Enlarged — but healthy.
Doing its job.
Not the problem.
Just like I had been saying.
The real issue was a peptic ulcer — my sixth one.
& that was treatable. They still want me to get more testing on my pancreas they feel something is blocking it. They gave me laxative to mix with apple juice because I am backed up & I believe that is the problem. So still need prayers & I got back July 31 for my next endoscopy. Need all the prayers I can get.
No reversal.
No gallbladder removal.
No major surgery.
God protected my body from something unnecessary & dangerous.
Every day in both hospitals — morning, day, night — I prayed.
I invited God into every room:
- the MRI room
- the HIDA scan room
- the endoscopy room
- my hospital bed
- every moment of fear
- every moment of pain
I asked Him to guide the doctors, to make sure they made the right decisions, to protect me from mistakes, delays, & fear.
& He did.
He was with me in every room.
When I came home on June 11th, I was exhausted, hurting, & still healing.
I had nightmares the first two nights — trauma dreams from everything I had been through.
But every time I prayed, peace came.
Every time I said, “Jesus, I need Your peace,” I fell back asleep.
& now, I’m healing.
My body is recovering.
My spirit is stronger.
My relationship with Jesus is deeper.
My church family prayed for me, & I felt every prayer.
This Wednesday, I get to walk back into choir rehearsal.
This Sunday — Father’s Day — I get to stand in the choir loft again, worshiping the God who carried me through every fear, every delay, every room, every test, every tear.
& I get to share this testimony with 306 new subscribers on YouTube — because God deserves the glory.
I went into the hospital scared.
I came out healed, protected, and closer to Jesus than ever.
God was with me in every room — & He never left me alone.
Love you always ✌🏻👽
