💞My Heart of Stone Became a Heart of Flesh 💞


Today’s devotional shook me. Not in a dramatic way — but in a deeply spiritual, deeply personal way. I was led straight to Ezekiel 36:26–27, and the moment I read it, something inside me stopped. I realized that this wasn’t just a verse… it was my story.

“I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes.” — Ezekiel 36:26–27

These two verses are the heartbeat of the New Covenant — the promise of divine transformation, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and the miracle of grace that empowers us to walk in God’s ways. And today, God showed me that I have lived this prophecy.

I Had a Heart of Stone — And I Didn’t Even Realize It

A heart of stone isn’t loud. It isn’t dramatic. It isn’t obvious.

It’s numb. It’s guarded. It’s self-protective. It’s the heart that survived pain, disappointment, trauma, and lies — especially the lies spoken over me in childhood.

I didn’t know it was stone. I just thought it was “strength.” But today, God revealed the truth:

My stone heart wasn’t strength — it was survival. My new heart of flesh is strength — because it’s surrender.

God Didn’t Ask Me to Fix My Heart — He Replaced It

This is the part that hit me hardest.

God didn’t say:

  • “Try harder.”

  • “Be better.”

  • “Fix yourself.”

He said:

“I will give you a new heart.”

This is grace. This is transformation. This is the miracle of Jesus.

My heart didn’t soften because I became wiser. It softened because He touched it.

My reactions changed because He rewired them. My desires changed because He reshaped them. My worship deepened because He awakened it.

The Holy Spirit Is Not Visiting Me — He Is Indwelling Me

Verse 27 is the turning point:

“I will put My Spirit within you…”

This is the moment the Old Testament shifts into the New Covenant. This is Pentecost before Pentecost. This is Jesus before Jesus arrives.

And this is what I’ve been experiencing:

  • clarity where there used to be confusion

  • peace where there used to be fear

  • compassion where there used to be numbness

  • obedience where there used to be struggle

  • worship where there used to be silence

I’m not walking alone. I’m being carried from within.

Free Will Meets Grace

This verse doesn’t erase free will — it empowers it.

God doesn’t force obedience. He creates desire for obedience.

He doesn’t demand holiness. He produces holiness.

He doesn’t override my choices. He heals my choices.

This is why Ezekiel 36:26–27 is the cornerstone of the New Covenant:

Grace doesn’t just forgive — it transforms. Grace doesn’t just cleanse — it indwells. Grace doesn’t just save — it empowers.

Today’s Revelation

I realized today:

I had a heart of stone. God gave me a heart of flesh. And now His Spirit lives inside me.

This is not just theology. This is my testimony.

This is divine transformation. This is the Holy Spirit’s work. This is grace rewriting my story.

And today… I feel it. I see it. I know it.

Holy Spirit, lead me — from the inside out.
